but I have OLDER applications - even Grand Prix Legends (pre-2000) running perfectly - without any issues - using these settings. In Disk Utility I can see the drive but can't erase or repair. When attempting to run Seagate Seatools diagnostic CD it detects no hard drive. According to the directions, there is suppose to be a Smart Copy button on the Home page of the Dashboard application. SMART keeps track of vital hard drive statistics, including how long the. I am suppose to use the Seagate Dashboard.

The compatibility settings are always worth trying - both for the installer and sometimes the apps (obviously) - There is only ONE app I have that doesn't work in Windows 10 (or 8 or 7 - with compatibility settings) - an old F1 game app. The drive does show up on my desktop but I cannot drag drop any files to it. Not sure which installer app they are using specifically (didn't look) - but this is a common issue. I DID NOT set the executable (dashboard.exe - in Program Files (x86)/Seagate etc folder) to compatibility mode - nor any file other than the installer package - The app, therefore, is NOT running in compatibility mode - and working It seems the issue is likely installer related and not application related I did 2 tests - one w/o reboot - one after a reboot - did a small file backup - about 1Gb of files I've also right clicked on my K Drive and gone to properties where there is a customise tab that has a picture option which reads 'Choose a file to show on this folder icon'.

I was working with my Surface Pro when I saw this post - Win 10 圆4 Pro - with an older model backup slim 500Gb I've also disconnected the External Drive, switched everything off, and then reconnected and switched it back on again, this hasn’t made any difference.

It will install a redistributable pack (may/may not require a restart - mine didn't b/c already installed) Selected Windows 8 Compatibility settings - (Apply/OK etc.) I have the actual file that makes the icon appear but i just need the ICO file.
I have attempted to utilize SeaTools for Windows to no avail. I really liked having an icon instead of standard default one thats on every external hard drive. After which point, my computer no longer recognized the drive. Once downloaded, RIGHT-CLICK on the installer EXE - So recently i bought a External hard drive from amazon and when i plugged it in to my pc it came up with an icon of the hard drive. In this case, you only need to assign a drive letter to the hard disk to solve this problem. Sometimes, the hard drive not showing up in File Explorer because it is not assigned a drive letter. 80GHz processor and 1GB RAM, 8 of 3TB (Seagate ST33000651AS CC44) drives and they form a 7. Download the installer from seagate (in case the one on the drive wasn't current) Assign drive letter for your Seagate hard drive. Note: All the data on a disk will be erased if it is formatted.
